Robot Festival

ROBOT FESTIVAL has become, over the years, one of the reference events on the international electronic scene. The review continues with its sound exploration and experimentation to offer the public a series of musical and non-musical events, which will be held in the most evocative places in Bologna.

Amnesia Scanner, finnish electronic music duo, are recognized among the most exciting and constantly evolving acts in the audio / video field with a transversal dialogue between different media.

Clark is a world-renowned English producer and DJ who will present his new album “Sus Dog” as a preview and in a national exclusive at the festival.

Jeff Mills, dj and producer, considered one of the pioneers of the purest and most minimalist techno, during his extraordinary career, has created a unique musical vision that comes to life in his dynamic djsets.

Sama’ Abdulhadi, born and raised in Palestine, is a DJ with a sound characterized by great energy and creativity, between techno, drum’n’bass and breakbeat with sound influences linked to her origins.

Tim Hecker, musician, producer, composer and cult name of experimental electronic music, will perform at the Oratorio di San Filippo Neri, one of the “special venues” of the festival, where he will present his latest recording project “No Highs”, a of constantly evolving ambient sounds that transport the listener on a unique and particular sound journey (event not included in subscriptions).

The rest of the lineup

The search for new realities allows the festival to offer a vast and rich line up every year, between art and music, such as the unprecedented collaboration between the English producer Shackleton and Scotch Rolex (alias Dj Scotch Egg), in a profound and mystical project but at the same time enveloping and pure; or, the meeting between Crystallmess and Lee Gamble, in an unpublished back to back and designed specifically for the festival.

Highly anticipated, however, the ambient music dj Courtesy and CC: Disco!, expression of the Melbourne clubbing scene who has become one of the most original artists of the world underground.

A characteristic of the fourteenth edition is the attention to multimedia projects such as Natural Wonder Beauty Concept, the project of the ambient music producer Ana Roxanne together with Dj Python, a New York artist with Ecuadorian and Argentine origins, able to offer a unique and alienating interpretation of the Latin styles of clubbing culture.

Other artists present will be Negativland, authentic masters in cataloging the detritus of contemporary consumer culture, who will perform with videos conceived and produced by the artist Sue-C; the festival’s revelation artist LustSickPuppy will also be present with her unique and exceptional performances and Tongue In The Mind, the project of the New York intellectual/musician Juliana Huxtable together with Jealous Orgasm and Via App.

The line up continues with Elena Colombi, dj and producer who will present the showcase of her label “Osàre!” with guest sound designer Eva Geist. There will also be dj System Olympia who will bring live her debut album “New Erotica Collection” and Holy Tongue, a musical project by percussionist, multi-instrumentalist and composer Valentina Magaletti together with producer Al Wootton (alias Deadboy), in a set of sound ranging from dub reggae to post-punk revisited in a contemporary key for a live set full of energy at the Teatro San Leonardo, one of the “special venues” of the festival.

ROBOT FESTIVAL is Shape Cultural Association’s project supported by the Ministry of Culture – Directorate General for Live Entertainment, the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Municipality of Bologna, Monte di Bologna Foundation and Ravenna Foundation.
